What needs to be considered

More than dismantling.

01

Ownership, permissions and access

We establish the owner’s authority and the applicable permissions and access arrangements before work starts. Lifting and transport requirements are included in the assessment.

02

Responsible handling

Fuel, oil, batteries and other materials are considered as part of the disposal plan. The work must follow the applicable handling and waste requirements. Tell us what is still on board so it can be accounted for.

03

Dismantling and disposal

The agreed work covers how the hull and fittings will be dismantled and handled. Fibreglass, metals and other materials require suitable disposal routes.

04

A certificate and photographs

On completion, you receive a dismantling certificate and a photographic record. Keep them as evidence of the dismantling work carried out.

Your record of completion

The job is done.
You have the record.

Boat Disposal Mallorca issues your dismantling certificate to document the work we have completed. We provide photographs of the actual dismantling work on your boat, giving you written and visual evidence to keep with your records.

If you live outside Mallorca, these records also let you see the completed work from wherever you are.

Fibreglass, timber or metal

The material changes the plan.

Fibreglass, also called GRP, is a composite material. Its disposal differs from metal recycling. Timber, steel and aluminium boats also need a case-specific assessment, including coatings, fittings and any contents left on board.

Unsure what your hull is made of? Include clear photos with your enquiry and tell us the make or model if you know it.

What to send for a fibreglass boat disposal quotation

Share the approximate length and beam, the boat’s location, and whether it is afloat or ashore. Include a full view, any damaged areas and the access route. For a sailing boat, mention the mast and keel; for a motorboat, include the engine details if known.

Tell us about fuel, oil, batteries or loose equipment still on board. Leave handling and dismantling until the work and responsibilities have been agreed. Your quotation can then account for removal, preparation and the appropriate treatment of the materials.

The completed dismantling service includes our company-issued certificate and photographs. See the documentation you receive, or request a quotation for your boat.
